UberPages :: About Me

Quick Menu

What's the deal with UberPages? Well, it all started with online gaming, early online gaming, to be exact - More or less. Early Ultima Online, to be even more exact. Back in those days, not much else mattered more than gaming/computers, girls and school...

History

Hard day at the office...Well, I've been on the computer and consoles since I was maybe six. I spent a lot of time at first playing games, but it wasn't long before they started to inspire me and until I started to do something about that inspiration.

What have I done with all of this inspiration? Well most of it has led me to learn. At first it was simple HTML for use on message boards which quickly led to making my first, and disgusting, geocities site (or was it angelfire?) in the near-late 90's.

The next natural step should have been Photoshop, yet somehow I ended up learning the in's and out's of Paint Shop Pro (something I regret, and attempt to unlearn to this day). After messing around with these, I slowly became better and sharper in knowing what to do and how to do it.

Next up came Flash. Mainly I was drawn to it for artistic reasons, and my reasons haven't changed too much since then. Flash development (mainly ActionScripting) was marred by "WorldCraft", a 3D modeling suite for Half Life: I spent many hours designing levels for Counter Strike, and playing in them with others. All of the work done with this would undoubtedly help me get comfortable with 3D Studio Max, later down the road.

Next came Mad-Brains (www.mad-brains.com - which is now gone and dead) - Mainly just a site for me to play around with and to post rants and such, hence the madness of the brain. I didn't like the hyphen. :)

Roughly two years of college later I've learned some more about web design, ASP (blah), databases, about CSS, XML, etc. Not to mention a new media course covering traditional photography, silk screening, printing presses and artistic psychology. Also attempting to learn 3D Studio Max (minus rigging and animation) and some PHP on the side, which worked out quite well :). Yeah, roughly two years later, UberPages was made - My European background might have had something to do with it.

In any case, the least I try to do with this site is learn, and the most, teach others. Either way, enjoy the ride.
